02Description — three lengths

Use any of these verbatim. No need to credit or paraphrase.

One line

A party knowledge game where clues come one at a time and the first person to shout the right answer wins the card.

One paragraph

Are You Clueless? is a party knowledge game for two players and up, played on a single phone. Clues come one at a time and the first person to shout the right answer wins the card — shout the wrong thing and you go backwards. It ships with 1,738 clue cards and 420 bonus questions, including a Kids library written for ages 8 and up, and it works entirely offline with no account. Free to download, with an optional $3.99 Premium Pack that unlocks the full library.

Three paragraphs

Are You Clueless? is a party knowledge game built around one idea: clues arrive one at a time, and the first person to shout the right answer takes the card. Guess wrong and you're out of that round and back a space, which is the only reason anybody waits. First player to square 18 wins.

Three of the eighteen squares on the board are hidden and change places every game. Land on the bonus square and you're asked how many spaces you're willing to risk — one, two, three or four — before you hear the question. The other two are penalty squares: you sit the next card out and can't shout, however much you know it.

The game ships with 1,738 clue cards and 420 bonus questions across six subjects, plus a Kids library written for ages 8 and up rather than being a watered-down version of the adult cards. Everything is stored in the app — it needs no signal, no account and no second device. It collects no data of any kind. Free to download; the $3.99 Premium Pack unlocks the full library in a single payment.

03Founder

Ariel Sheffer, founder of Are You Clueless?

Ariel Sheffer, founder. Full-size and square-cropped versions are in the asset pack.

Ariel Sheffer is the founder of Sheffer Global LLC in Boca Raton, Florida, and the person who built Are You Clueless? He wrote the cards, designed the game and the artwork, and shipped it on both stores.

He built it for two reasons.

The first was family game night. Every box of cards eventually runs out — you memorize them, someone starts reading and you already know the answer. He wanted a library big enough that it doesn't repeat, and one he could keep adding to.

The second was a trip to Disney World, much of it spent standing in lines, with nothing the whole family could play together on the spot. That's why the game lives on one phone, needs no setup, and works with no signal.

Quote available for use:

"Every box of cards we own, we've memorized. Game night stops being fun when you already know the answer. And then we're at Disney standing in line for forty minutes with nothing to do. I wanted one game that fixed both."
— Ariel Sheffer, founder
